Sandy Alderson told Mike Francesa that he wouldn’t trade Noah Syndergaard under virtually any circumstances.
Alderson said that he’d “never say never,” but that Syndergaard is essentially untouchable among his pitching prospects. He said both Syndergaard and Rafael Montero will follow the same path that Zack Wheeler took to the major leagues in 2013.
He did say he expects to see both Syndergaard Montero pitching with the big club next season, and would be very disappointed if they don’t get promoted over the course of the season.
Lastly, Alderson believes Montero has a slight edge on Syndergaard, because he was able to pitch at Triple-A in 2013.
