Adam Rubin of ESPN talked to nine scouts, seven of which said they prefer Lucas Duda over Ike Davis at first base.

The more I watch Duda play, the more I think I agree. He is large and often slow over there, but he always seems to be in the right place at the right time and he hasn’t done anything comically bad. He also seems to have more upside at the plate, if only because Davis has shown himself to be so inconsistent and one-dimensional, at best. Man, how times change…
In either case, I totally expect Sandy Alderson to push these guys in trades to see who has more value and then, ultimately, move one and keep the other… At the very least, Duda can be sent to Triple-A to start 2014, with Ike at first in Citi Field, but I bet that is Alderson’s least favorite option.
