Winter Leagues: Wilmer Flores has cooled off, Mejia inconsistent
Over his last ten games for Los Braves de Margarita in the Venezuelan Winter League, Mets prospect Wilmer Flores has gone just 9-for-43 with a home run and six RBI.
Flores is still hitting .285 with a .353 OBP and .445 SLG, four home runs and 14 RBI with 19 strikeouts in 137 at-bats.
Meanwhile, Jenrry Mejia was roughed up in his last start for Los Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Winter League, allowing six runs and four hits with two walks in only 2/3 of an inning.
Mejia is 1-2 with a 4.21 ERA in seven starts this winter, having allowed 22 hits and 10 walks with 19 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings.
