Winter Leagues: Wilmer Flores continues to perform in Venezuela

Over his last ten games for Los Braves de Margarita in the Venezuelan Winter League, Mets prospect Wilmer Flores has hit .333 with three doubles, a home run and one RBI in 42 at-bats.

Overall, Flores is hitting .313 with a .387 on-base percentage, two home runs and four RBI in 17 games so far this winter.

Flores, 21,  hit a combined .300 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI in 493 at-bats over 130 games between Single-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton this season. After being promoted to Binghamton, Flores hit .311 with eight home runs and 33 RBI in 251 at-bats.

Meanwhile, Cesar Puello has struggled during his stint with the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .232 with 18 strikeouts in 56 at-bats.

Puello hit .260 with four home runs and 21 RBI in an injury shortened season with Single-A St. Lucie in 2012.

Elvin Ramirez has two wins in five relief appearances for Los Gigantes del Cibao in the Domincan Winter League. He has pitched to a 3.86 ERA with two walks and three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

RHP Armando Rodriguez has been solid in seven relief appearances for Los Leones del Escogido, striking out eight while allowing two earned runs in 8 2/3 innings. He has allowed five walks over that span, however.

Lastly, Jordany Valdespin who is playing for Los Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Winter League, is hitting .267 with two home runs and five RBI in nine games. He has a .371 on-base percentage and a .863 OPS so far this winter.
