11:18 am: Lucas Duda was told he will be the designated hitter in a minor-league game Friday in St. Lucie (ESPN NY, Mar. 14).
He has not played in a game since injuring his left hamstring on March 3.

What a mess. In the event Ike doesn’t bet back soon enough, to get in enough at bats and be up to speed for Opening Day, it will resolve the first base situation by default, I guess. Josh Satin is clearly half the platoon, set to get most of the at bats this year against left-handed pitching. Duda will be his partner, facing righties, assuming Davis is delayed. The real fun will begin when Ike is ready. Then what?
