The Good: The Mets won their fourth walk-off win of the year last night. The Mets are tied for second in the majors with the Giants with their four walk-off victories. The Mets last three wins at home have come in walk-off fashion.

The Bad: Over the club’s last 10 home games, the Mets have scored 25 runs while hitting .189. They have scored two runs or less in six of those games. Overall, the Mets have scored 74 runs in 18 home games.

The Pitching Matchups: Shaun Marcum (0-2, 7.20 ERA) will start for the Mets. Marcum has struggled since joining the rotation on April 20, allowing six walks in ten innings and averaging just over four innings in each of his two starts. Marcum allowed three runs in only 4 1/3 innings to the Braves last weekend, allowing nine base runners while retiring only 13 batters. Marcum has pitched well against the Pirates in his career, going 2-2 with a 2.65 ERA in six starts.

Wandy Rodriguez (2-2, 4.02 ERA) will start for the Pirates. Rodriguez has had an up-and-down start to his season in 2013. He made one bad start against the Brewers and missed some time in mid-April due to a strained hamstring. He has allowed three earned runs or less in five of his first six starts, but he’s averaging a shade under 5 1/3 innings per start. Lefties have hit Rodriguez to a .298 clip this season, but righties have hit only .198 against him in 95 plate appearances. Rodriguez is 5-2 with a 2.88 ERA in nine career starts against the Mets.
