I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD WE SIGNED CRUZ AND ABREU?

Oh yes. Wouldn't it be fun to have a blog where we could have a thread to discuss the game as it is happening?

Baloney. abreu was an obvious choice for power hitter. Small sample so far but he sure looks good. It seemed clear to me and I said so at the time.

Cuban baseball has a proven track record in MLB and this guy was a big time power hitter.

We didn't sign him because we had Ike and the Dude. hopefully the Dude shows more than he has so far.

Let's keep it at least a little bit real here.

@nncyel  Disagree.  If you go with the spilled milk theory you will never learn from your mistakes and get better.  Sandy has not put together a good offense.  I see no problem with calling him on it.

@happyrecap  You don't seem to understand what the expression "spilled milk" means. jose's not saying the Mets shouldn't have signed him, he's simply saying that shipped his sailed, to use a similar expression - he signed with the White Sox. Over. Done. How many times is someone going to post that the Mets should've signed Abreu? It gets pointless.

What a team they'd have though had they signed Ellsbury, McCann, Tanaka, Beltran, Roberts, Johnson and Thornton. Only would've cost them 470 million and heck they'd probably be undefeated. And their fans would be overjoyed. What's that? The Yankees are 15-13? Same record as the Mets? Oh.
